I am a US-based, Japanese born designer with a passion for creating meaningful experience through environmental and product design. I studied Industrial Design at Massachusetts College of Art and Design and attained a master's degree in Products of Design at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

From a very young age I have always been fascinated with color, hues, shades, and all the possibilities of their organization. Beside drawing, I also loved looking at the World Map, and collecting random objects such as origami papers, erasers, and stamps. Looking back, these habits or hobbies contributed to who I am now. I traveled a great deal, and as I grew I combined my love of all things visual with design. Although I don't move every 2-3 years like I did in my childhood, I am always curious to find out what is going on in the world. I continuously search for the visual, from creativity in the layouts of Japanese apartments to isolated images of nature. My work explores a relationship between products, environment and experience and how the meaning of a product changes in a different environment and context.

I believe in the importance of community involvement and philanthropy. When I am not designing, I am an ambassador for local running clubs in the bay area and help others achieve their goals through distance running.
